Customer Service
Laser Probe provides full calibration and repair services for all current LPI products, as well as many out-of-production models manufactured under both the Laser Probe and Laser Precision Corp. company names. US customers may contact the Laser Probe Customer Service Dept. directly to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) Number and shipping instructions. Customers outside the US should contact the authorized LPI international representative in your country to obtain an RMA Number and arrange for shipping to Laser Probe. If your country is not listed please contact the Laser Probe Customer Service Dept. directly:

Email: service@laserprobeinc.com
Telephone: +1 315-797-4492
Facsimile: +1 315-797-0696

When obtaining the RMA please have the model and serial number for each instrument (they can be found on the instrument's serial tag). If the instrument is being returned for repair a detailed description of the problem, along with sample data and a block diagram of the experiment, is quite helpful.

Calibration
The recommended calibration cycle for all Laser Probe instruments is one year, although this period can be shortened or lengthened to suit your particular application. Typical turn-around time for calibration is one week or less - ask for an estimate of the current turn-around time when the RMA is issued. Expedited calibrations can be arranged - contact the Customer Service Dept. for details.

All Laser Probe instruments are calibrated to meet the requirements stated in the MIL-45662A and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 (Sections 7-18) calibration standards, and are provided with a calibration certificate showing traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Repair Service
All instruments returned to Laser Probe are subject to a $75 USD evaluation fee. After the instrument is evaluated no further work will be performed without customer approval. If the repair is performed the evaluation fee will be applied to the repair cost.

All repairs are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of 90 days.

International Shipping Instructions
After an RMA Number has been obtained from LPI please observe the following instructions to avoid shipping delays and/or unnecessary fees.

Write the RMA Number on the outside of the shipping container and on all shipping documents, proforma invoices, etc. Ship the instruments to:

Laser Probe, Inc.
2145A Dwyer Ave.
Utica, NY 13501
USA
Attn: RMA Number __________

Instruct your freight forwarder to ship the instruments freight prepaid, "Free Domicile", and authorize them to clear the shipment through US Customs.

Affix a proforma invoice to the carton. Be sure the proforma invoice includes the declared value for the instruments and the following statement:

These goods were manufactured in the United States and exported to {your country}. They are being returned to the US for calibration/repair. While in the US they will not be altered in any way to improve their value other than the calibration/repair necessary to return them to original manufacturer's specifications. After the calibration/repair is complete they will be returned to {your country}.

The LPI Customer Service Dept. can assist you in determining what value to declare for the goods being returned.
